The Jonathan Herron Power Track

One of the features at Momentum Youth Conference is a classroom-style session titled "Power Tracks". A Power Track gives the teens a more interactive experience with the speaker. Today's Power Track by Jonathon Herron was based on the Books of Luke and Acts. He explained a cycle that took place after Christ and that continues to take place in our world today.

After Christ's death, all was lost for the Christ Followers. For Romans and Jews perhaps, life went back to normal; having finally put this love-centered uprising to rest. Even though Jesus had spoke of this moment, all who followed Him were in absolute dispair. Of course, we all know the rest of the story; that Christ rose three days after His death and appeared to multiple people before assending to heaven.

Following this event, the early church started to spread. People everywhere started to turn their hearts to God in Prayer. God answered these prayers and gave the people the Power to do amazing things and overcome obsticles. This power led to a courage and desire to issue the Proclamation of the good news (the Gospel) to anyone and everyone; and many believed! Unfortunately, once this good news was proclaimed and people started to believe, Persecution was issued. Romans and Jews alike, could not stop the onslot of conversations and conversions, all based on this Man whom they had killed; but now had risen from the dead and appeared to His followers.

This is the point in the story where the cycle starts. All that persecution just pulled Christ's Followers to their knees and once again, turned to God in Prayer! This cycle has continued throughout history and continues today in many areas of the world. People are brought to their knees in Prayer, God's Power is poured out, Proclamations of faith are made and Christ's followers are Persecuted. Which brings us back to Prayer...
