'It's easy to get distracted,' a Momentum student

This is my second trip to Momentum and so far I have learned more then I could ever imagine. Yesterday was a great day because I got to listen to Shawn McBride speak about removing items that are distracting to you or are keeping you in bondage and about the sin that entangles us preventing us from sharing our faith.

He told a story about a girl who was running a race against a boy and if the boy won he got to marry her. Many had failed but then a boy came with a plan to distract her from the race using candy and throwing it of the path so she would go after it. His plan worked using a few snickers, kit-kats, and “twixeses”. His point with that story was to show us how easy it is to get distracted from what God wants us to do.

He gave us a list of sins that entangle a few were anger, self-esteem, lust, and jealousy. The one I struggle with the most I think would be anger but it was not until I listened to Shawn that I realized it and now he has given me tools to untangle myself with the help of God.
