MAP Teams

Map (Momentum Applied) Teams are week-long or weekend opportunities throughout the year to do ministry and extend the impact of Momentum Youth Conference past the one week conference experience. Below are some tentatively planned MAP Team options open to students, adults, and youth groups. These teams are organized by local churches/individuals, and they will establish the criteria, costs and details for your ministry. If interested in any of the following MAP Teams, contact CE National to be put in contact with the leader of any of the MAP teams.

Ever feel like you wanted to “do” something to receive training and experience in helping others? Consider joining others to visit homeless or experience a third-world country or…

While there are various agencies who serve others, not all involve strong believers. Here are some groups that CE feels you can trust.

  1. Operation Barnabas—Grade 10-12 students received training and experience working with adult leaders and other students to help churches and groups for 7 weeks of the summer. An OB International team will serve in the Philippines in 2010. Website: Operationbarnabas.net
  2. Urban Hope Training Center—trains students or groups in outreach and cross-cultural relationships. Minister to the homeless and various ethnic groups for a weekend, a week or a year. Website: urbanhope.net
  3. Canadian Adventure in Vancouver (Canada) is an opportunity for students, adults, or families each summer to help in a church-plant. Website: canadianadventure.org
  4. Disciples of Christ Outreach Ministry is an African-American group in Washington, D.C. Kevin Mincey is the pastor of this church that is focused on reaching young people and families. Email: docoutreach2004@yahoo.com
  5. Experience Israel. Dr. Randy Smith from Sebring, Florida, is seriously considering operating a two/three-week trip next summer to allow students/younger adults to experience Israel. This all-inclusive program includes visiting Bible sites, an Israeli army base, youth hostiles, sleeping in desert tents, doing volunteer work, and even riding camels. This is only a tentative plan at this point. For more information contact: dr.randall.smith@gmail.com.
