A Leadership Strategy for the Local Church

The Current Sports Landscape

Every week, families in your community gather at fields, courts, tracks, diamonds, and gyms. For many parents and students, sports are one of the primary places where relationships are formed, values are shaped, and community is built.

The question is not whether sports are influencing families.

The question is whether the Church is intentionally engaging them there.

Why Sports Ministry Matters

For decades, churches have invested heavily in trying to reach families, but are they currently looking in the right places? Sports have become one of the largest gathering spaces in our culture. Rather than waiting for these families to find the church, Momentum Sports will help the church bridge the gap to seek out those families.

Six Ways Sports Become Ministry

01

Reach Families Where They Are

Engage families in the places they already gather every week.

02

Build Trusted Relationships

Use consistent sports environments to form real connections with parents, students, coaches, and volunteers.

03

Develop Leaders and Volunteers

Turn sports ministry into a practical pipeline for identifying, training, and mobilizing leaders.

04

Shape Character and Faith

Move beyond recreation by modeling biblical values in teachable, formative moments.

05

Create Community Presence

Build visible, consistent trust with families and organizations in your local community.

06

Connect People to Discipleship

Create natural next steps from sports participation into the broader life and mission of the church.

Built on Experience.
Driven by Vision.

Momentum Sports is built from real-world local church experience, not theory alone. Through years of sports ministry leadership, Nick Demos has seen how athletics can reach families, mobilize volunteers, develop leaders, and create sustainable ministry environments that connect people to the life and mission of the local church.

Nick joined Momentum to help churches see sports not as an optional activity, but as a mission-critical strategy for outreach, discipleship, leadership development, and community impact.

"I believe that sports serve as the church’s greatest outreach opportunity, and I’m passionate about helping churches maximize their impact."

"Proven practitioners will be our movement multipliers’ is a principle we have adopted for Momentum Sports. I believe there’s no one better to lead this movement forward than Nick Demos."

The Momentum Sports Conference

Many church leaders understand the influence of sports. Few, however, have been equipped to use that influence intentionally for outreach, discipleship, and leadership development. The Momentum Sports Conference will help pastors, sports ministry directors, youth leaders, coaches, and volunteers discover how sports can become a powerful extension of the local church’s mission. This is not a conference about winning games. It is about reaching people.
